The Chevrolet Cruze is still over a year away from its U.S. launch, but UK residents will get a crack at the new sedan this July. In anticipation of that summer launch, Chevrolet released full pricing and model options for the UK-spec Cruze earlier on Tuesday. The base Cruze 1.6 S will hit UK showrooms this July with a base price of £11,545, or roughly $16,000. For the price of entry, Cruze 1.6 S buyers will receive a CD stereo, power front windows, adjustable driver’s seat and steering wheel, six airbags, stability control, soft touch materials and blue-backlit dashboard displays. Air conditioning can be added to the 1.6 S model for £450.
The up-level LS model is expected to be the volume seller, with the upgrade adding standard air conditioning, 16 inch alloy wheels, chrome exterior accents, fog lights and rear parking sensors. The Cruze LS model will carry a base price of £12,595, with the optional automatic transmission bumping that figure to £13,695.
The LT model holds the top spot in the Cruze range, featuring cruise control, climate control, an upgraded stereo, power rear windows and 17 inch wheels. A satellite navigation system is optional. Pricing for the LT model will start from £13,595.
Four engines will be offered in the UK-spec Cruze – two gas engines and two diesel powerplants. The base 1.6L petrol engine serves up about 110 horsepower, while the up-level 1.8L – available exclusively on LT models – spews out 140 horsepower. A 2.0L diesel unit is available on all Cruze models, although S and LS models do with 125 horsepower while LT models see a bump to 150 horsepower.
